marked the opening of the first legal mountain bike trail in Milwaukee County.
Metro Mountain Bikers hosted the ribbon cutting ceremony for the trails designed by the IMBA Trail Care Specialist service and built by our volunteers.

At the ribbon cutting County Exec Scott Walker & Parks Director Sue Black were excited that this could be the "FIRST" of more trails! Big thanks to Marty - aka "Hey! Beerman" for 8 years of work to get legal trails in Milwaukee County!

The trail head is located in the Winter Sports Parking Lot, approximately 6700 S. 92nd St. (across from the golf course), Franklin, WI.

The Alpha Trail connects to the trails at Crystal Ridge which were the first trails built by Metro Mountain Bikers. Due to the changing landscape and terrain at Crystal Ridge, the trails have been modified over the years to make them more sustainable. By combining the two trail sytems the total mileage available to ride is approximately 7 miles. The trails play host to racing events throughout the summer season. Wednesday Night Racing at Crysatl Ridge, May through September. The Metro Challenge, part of the Wisconsin Endurance Mountian Bike Series (WEMSeries). The Alterra Coffee Bean Classic, part of the Wisconsin Off Road Series (WORS).
And for the past 2 years, the Wisconsin State Night Racing Championship.
